Tablescape Thursday - A Presidential Tablescape

On a recent visit to the Clinton Presidential Library, I immediately thought of Tablescape Thursday when seeing this exhibit in one of the halls. Among all the artifacts, letters, gifts and stories was a table setup as it would have been at one of the many state dinners hosted by the Clinton's. I thought it would be great to share it with all of you.

The ornate plates are what makes this table setting. Other than the gold leafed plates with the White House design, it's a very simple setting. But notice also the gold chairs.

  7. Hi! I am just a visitor, hopping from tablescape to tablescape, appreciating them more and more with every one I see.. and aspiring to play along someday! (0; This was beautiful to see, but upon a closer look, I'm wondering WHY guests would EACH need THREE glasses?? I could see one for water, one for wine perhaps?.. Then the third would be for MILK?.. no, I don't suppose.. WHAT would a THIRD wine glass be NEEDED for? Enquiring minds want to KNOW! Well, whatever the case, I enjoyed this post and a fun peek at a presidential tablesetting! Thanks for bringing us along! ~tina
